Abstract
Residual stiffness models are an important class of fatigue models for composites that take into account the progressive degradation of stiffness during fatigue life. When those models are applied to full-scale industrial components with complex geometry, stress concentrators and multiaxial loads, the stiffness degradation will never be uniform throughout the composite structure, but rather will be concentrated in certain highly stressed areas.
