Chapter 8

Executing the plan

There are three things you need to do when running the project. The first is to manage people properly; the second is to track progress against the plan; the third is to tell the result of this to the stakeholders. To have a fast project you want to do all of these as quickly and efficiently as possible. This chapter shows you how.

Managing people

You may remember the classification scheme from Chapter 4. It said that when you assigned somebody to a job, one of the following five situations could arise:

1. The person has the necessary skill and experience to do the job and likes/loves to do it (Superstar.)
