Video description
This course will teach the foundations of executive leadership–what makes it different from traditional leadership, what qualities and skills are required for executives to lead effectively, and what are some of the greatest leadership challenges facing executives today. For executives, it will provide an expert overview of essential skills; for aspiring executives, it will demystify the qualities and skills needed to move into executive positions. These include understanding the business, building influence, decision making, developing talent, and being comfortable with ambiguity but ready for action.
In this course, participants will learn how executive leadership is different from the leadership needed to be a successful individual contributor or manager. They will learn that executive leadership emphasizes strategic thinking and simplifying complexity, requires influence and comfort with ambiguity, collaboration with your executive peers, and managing up. Those new or aspiring to executive positions shouldn’t rely on what made them successful in their prior roles. They will understand through this course what is expected and required of executive leaders so they can make an impact right away in their new role or be considered for a promotion.
