The CEO of a multibillion-dollar wireless company had just finished his presentation to the Society of American Business Editors and Writers in Irvine, California, only to discover that his laptop was missing. The laptop contained highly sensitive company information, and the CEO was quite concerned that it would be of great value to “foreign governments.” The company had been in conversations with Chinese telecom carriers and was hopeful they would adopt their patented technology.
