years ago, when I suggested that
something could be different,
ideal, aspirational vibe, and
stuck behind the old paradigm,
peeking out from the corners,
fearful of loss, of lack, of
stepping out tall poppy to be
struck down by the cruelty of
the world we’ve allowed them to build
on our backs, he said,
“Get real!”
and I thought,
“I will, but not the way you think.”
May I speak plainly?
