A Note on Reading This Book

Before you dive in, I want you to know that this book isn’t quite like other standard corporate business books. If you bring your corporate brain to it, it’s possible that you might be a little annoyed or even frustrated by the poetry and arty bits, but this is not a bad thing. Having a little bit of openness to a different kind of expression is exactly the right state to be in for taking in the messages in this book, so you’re on the right track. This book is also divided into two parts, one of philosophy in Chapters 1 through 5 and the second of practices to help you begin your work in Chapters 6 through 9, so be prepared to dig in and do some work when you get there.
