Chapters 5 to 8 summarize evidence and guidelines on best practices with graphics and use of text and audio to describe graphics. We started our discussion of research on graphics in chapter 2. In this part of the book we will dig deeper into the evidence on visuals, including the what, when, and why of effective graphics.
