The rise in incivility is inextricably linked to the expansion of virtual activity. Just as the problem of incivility did not emerge overnight, the virtual workplace did not arrive with the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. In fact, e-mail is a form of electronic communication that has been around since the 1960s.
