As we mentioned in earlier chapters, the real-life examples in this book were mostly from our own experiences in implementing ERM programs at companies from the solar and the semiconductor industries. For both, ERM programs were implemented from the bottom up. In this chapter, the first case study will be from the solar company. The solar company case study spans over a three-year period, while the second case study related to the semiconductor company and spans over a one-year period. In the case of the solar company, the discussion will be limited primarily to the results and benefits of the ERM program, while the discussion related to the semiconductor company will show the entire journey to success.
