Dealing With the Media

Introduction

We live and work in a complex society, one in which information is often king. Under normal circumstances, from the time we wake up in the morning until we fall asleep at night, we are bombarded by information from a variety of sources. Some of this information is good and some bad, depending upon our perspective, but most of it fills some useful purpose in our lives. We have, as a society, become so accustomed to that flow of information that we may actually be uncomfortable and concerned when it is absent for any reason. In any type of crisis, it is often the first place that we turn in order to learn what is happening.
