General Requirements Inspections
OVERVIEW
This chapter covers inspections to determine compliance with the general requirements of the National Electrical Code® (NEC®). The checklists in this chapter cover Articles 90 and 110, in which the most general and broadly applied rules of the NEC are located. Article 90 explains the organization, scope, and intent of the NEC. The duties of the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), the approval process, and the role of third-party testing and certification are also covered in Article 90. Article 110 expands on the requirement for approval of equipment and materials and furnishes specific elements for consideration in examining equipment for approval.
