Induction Machine Modeling
4.1 Introduction
The principles of operation of alternating current (ac) machines, the arrangement of their windings, and methods for calculating their inductances were covered in Chapters 1 and 2. In particular, it was shown that some of the inductances of ac machines, for example, mutual inductances between stator and rotor windings of an induction machine, are not constant and depend on the position of the rotor and hence are a function of time.
