Dr. Shaahin Filizadeh obtained his BSc and MSc degrees, both in electrical engineering, from Sharif University of Technology in Iran in 1996 and 1998, respectively. In 2004, he obtained his PhD from the University of Manitoba, where he is presently an associate professor.
Dr. Filizadeh specializes in power electronics and power systems simulation, electric motor drives, hybrid and electric vehicle drive trains, and optimization. He is a member of several IEEE Working Group Task Forces and is presently the chair of the Task Force on Induction Machine Modeling. He is also a registered professional engineer in the province of Manitoba.
