Production Control
The production control area is the operations center of the TV show. Here in a room(s) overlooking the studio, the director and various members of the team select and control the program’s pictures and sound sources.
Typical features
• A bank of ‘preview’ or ‘channel’ picture monitors continuously displays pictures from each video source: camera channels, film (telecine), videotape, slides, remotes, titles, etc.
• A production switcher/vision mixer which enables the director to cut/fade/ mix between these picture sources – sending the selected channel(s) to line, to be recorded or transmitted.
