It is all very well to plan our journey, but we need to understand how we are progressing toward our final destination and, ultimately, whether we have arrived where we intended. Financial statements of different hues are a crucial ingredient in helping us here. We are not the only ones who are interested in the success of our journey. Along the way we are helped by all sorts of interested parties, and, naturally, they are quite keen to see that we are successful for the rest of the way.
