Concept

An organization’s culture refers to the shared beliefs and values that enable its members to understand what the organization stands for, how it does things, and what it considers important (Deal and Kennedy 2000). While culture cannot be objectively measured or directly observed, it can be inferred from the organization’s documents and the behavior of those in the organization.
