So you like what you’ve seen and heard of India, and you want a slice of the Indian economic pie. Well, you can have it. But wait! First you have to convince the Indians to let you in on the feast. In other words, prepare a business plan, India style.
To prepare an effective plan you also need to know what works best in India. You need to get the hang of the Indian slant to business to make a plan that meets with the approval of potential partners who are able to secure loans from Indian sources, apart from the funds you bring into the country yourself. Many issues exist in the business to which you may never have thought of, but you have to negotiate them Indian style, not Western style, if you want to succeed.
In this chapter I present you with ideas on how to draw up plans for your business venture in India that both look good to the Indians you’re trying to impress and work well in an environment that is unfamiliar to you.
