Objective

To explore tight selection of areas in an atmosphere of romantically heightened moonlight, sunlight and lamplight.

Setting

An excerpt from a romantic opera, probably written towards the end of the nineteenth century, full of soaring melodies with high held notes at the climaxes. A tower stands just off centre with steps descending to the stage via an intermediate level (Figures P.10, P.11). There are black legs at the side of the stage and the option of blacks or a plain sky cloth at the back.

Rig

Up to 20 lights (including the 8 shown on the plan) may be hung from the grid or used on stands (plus floodlighting for a sky cloth if used).
