Objective

To explore simultaneous control of space and atmosphere.

Setting

The stage is masked by black drapes as shown (Figure P.8). There is a table and two chairs.

Rig

There are 12 lights, 6 profiles and 6 focus, on the grid. Up to a further 8 of any available type may be hung as required.

Contraction and expansion

If equipment is short, reduce the permitted additionals to 6, then remove rigged lights in the sequence 2 and 5 from the profiles, then 2 and 5 from the focus spots. The number of additionals should not be increased much beyond 10 or 12.

If time is short, it is possible, although not particularly desirable, for three designers to work simultaneously – one dealing with each area.
