Objectives

To explore the use of light for (a) defining space and (b) concentrating audience attention on selected areas within that space.

Setting

Plain scenic flats indicate the entrance to a small room with a table and two chairs (Figure P.5). A black masking surround is desirable.

Rig

The lighting grid provides 6 profile and 6 focus (PC or Fresnel) spots. Additional lights, up to a maximum of 6, may be hung at any chosen positions on the grid.

Contraction and expansion
