Le Nguyen Binh earned his BE(Hons) and PhD degrees in electronic engineering and integrated photonics in 1975 and 1978, respectively, both from the University of Western Australia, Nedlands, Western Australia. In 1980, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering of Monash University after spending 3 years as a research scientist with CSIRO Australia.
