St Pancras station is probably one of the most iconic of all the Victorian London terminus stations. Beneath its impressive and huge spanned roof built of iron and glass sits the recently outfitted Flying Duchess, waiting to take her maiden voyage across the roof tops of Victorian London. The Duchess is an experimental upside-down locomotive, built to travel over London, diminishing the need to build huge railway cuttings or embankments that will displace much of London’s inhabitants.
