9 Camera problems

Digital cameras must cope with many (but not all) of the problems faced by film cameras. In addition, there are a number of extra problems arising either from the technology itself or from the way it is implemented. These can be divided into six discrete categories: complexity, focusing and response times, flash compatibility, speed versus quality, downloading pictures and printing options.

Complexity

It must be accepted that digital cameras are complicated pieces of equipment, and as such it takes time to learn all their features. This is very different from the case of a film-based compact camera or modern SLR, where it is possible to start taking a full range of pictures immediately.
