INTRODUCTION

This picture won first prize in the Hellfire Widow Contest, organized by Subdivisonmodeling.com. My idea was to model an anatomically correct spider and to make a photorealistic render of it. Reference materials for the job were provided by Subdivisionmodeling.com: photos, and drawings by Glen Southern. I looked up many other references and anatomical descriptions to be able to make the model more accurate. I also drew several studies for the modeling.
