Chapter 6
The question now is, what is the role of the hub? Literature, politics, and popular culture have established the heroic leader as a stereotype. But a search for better models is under way. I propose to put a case here for the leader as host, at least when the leader is the hub of a network. I will suggest what the hub hosts, speculate on other emerging metaphors, and offer a thought experiment to explore these ideas.
