We now present an extended design example of using ADD 3.0 in a greenfield system for a challenging domain—that of Big Data. As of the time of writing, this domain was still relatively new and rapidly evolving. As such, the architects could not solely rely on past experience to guide them. They instead complemented the design process with periodic analyses and strategic prototyping, as we will now describe.
