4-way handshake 802.11 communication back and forth between an access point and client radio that results in determining the common key used to encrypt data.
802.3 A standard published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) that defines the signal characteristics and operation of a wired LAN. It defines the use of CSMA, which is similar to 802.11 WLANs.
