10.1 Overview
Now that we’ve discussed the implementation of QoS for MPLS VPN service that is categorized as labeled traffic, this section takes a look at the various IOS and IOS-XR configuration templates for unlabeled traffic. By definition, unlabeled traffic does not consist of an MPLS header, and hence the QoS policies will need to use an alternate scheme of marking and classifying within the SP network core, instead of MPLS Experimental bits. Hence IP traffic that is unlabeled can use IP precedence or IP DSCP bits for this purpose.
