Security is a major topic, particularly as it relates to Web-based applications. Web applications that aren’t secure are highly vulnerable to IP theft, network attacks, data corruption, and more. These are only a few of the potential hazards that can occur when your security layers have been breached. Several layers of security should be employed, and this chapter touches on one of them—that is, securing your ASP.NET applications.
