1 Tools related to the invincible company

The first type of tool was developed by Alexander Osterwalder and his team and is best known under the heading “Business Model Canvas.” Furthermore, the notion of “The Business Model Portfolio” was recently introduced in the book The Invincible Company.1 The strength of these highly successful tools results from rebuilding the corporate company using existing and readily available resources, thereby achieving business-model innovation. However, in Osterwalder’s new book (The Invincible Company), a distinction is made between “explore” and “exploit” (see Table A.1).
