Root Cause, Corrective Action Process
Here’s an example of applied root cause analysis–closed look corrective action (RCA-CLCA): My very first tech job was as a computer analyst working on computer-aided design (CAD) systems. During the day, the CAD users would do their thing; the workload was mostly random. During lunch-hour, the systems folks ran incremental backups. The systems folks started to run the backups earlier and earlier. CAD users complained that the system was really unresponsive immediately before lunch, and they were having problems getting their work done.
