Chapter 20The Great Burgee Hunt

With the last of our visitors behind us for a little while, we relaxed into the rhythm of the loop. We would nibble down the coast a tiny bit at a time and take in Florida. The glorious warm, calm weather was the perfect platform for discovery. The warm weather meant more of the smells of the sea, more people on the streets, and more loopers.

We were keenly aware that leaving Chattanooga on January fifteenth put us behind. We essentially traded relaxed autumn-colored leaves in Alabama for the chaos of our two-week run through winter storms with snowflakes in the locks.
