How should we live? In an inscrutable world, it’s especially hard to say. In the old days, we explored our options, fixed on a career choice, got the right education, pursued the perfect job, and signed on with a powerful corporation. This strategy is now doubtful. We know our career will change several times, education will be continual, and a perfect job is unlikely at least in the early days. Most of all, we can no longer consider the corporation safe haven. Thomas Stewart puts it this way:
