Integration and Conclusions
The preceding chapters demonstrate quite clearly the wide-ranging influence of culture on various forms of psychopathology. The relationship between culture and psychopathology, however, is far from simple, and is often indirect and multifaceted. Our knowledge is limited by the paucity of well-designed research studies. Even descriptive and epidemiological studies are relatively scarce. These studies only allow a broad, general understanding of the field, enticing us to increase our knowledge base and our cultural sensitivity.
