Who would have the nerve to write a book about organizational soul? Believe me, I understand that this under taking is unabashedly pretentious. It took surviving Vietnam, the Pentagon, jails, drug rehab, teen-age pregnancy, the educational system, the health care system, homelessness, the Canadian Mounties, and corporate America before I figured out that I had survived so many soul-threatening experiences that I needed to write about them. I hope that through this book I can make some contribution toward changing the experience for those who come after me.
