This chapter begins with a discussion of the importance of information and some of the behavioral issues of information, especially around anxiety. Following that is a consideration of system design and the contents of a project management information system (PMIS). We examine overall contents of a PMIS by determining questions to be answered—questions about outcome, schedule, and resource requirements. Other PMIS contents include facilities for communication and information for organizational learning. Final sections discuss PMIS software and hints for developing a PMIS.
