As mentioned in the introduction, the dark triad is a constellation of three theoretically separable, albeit conceptually and empirically overlapping, personality constructs that are typically construed as interpersonally maladaptive: psychopathy, narcissism, and Machiavellianism (Smith & Lilienfeld, 2013). The narcissistic personality is marked by grandiosity, a sense of entitlement, and lack of empathy (Smith & Lilienfeld, 2013).
