Introduction

Fort Huachuca is an Army installation located southeast of Tucson, Arizona. Its location made it ideal to monitor Apache comings and goings through the San Pedro Mountains and as a staging point for General Pershing’s punitive mission into Mexico. In this role, it was home to some of the famous Buffalo Soldiers who played a significant role in “winning the West.”

Today, the installation houses the U.S. Army’s Military Intelligence School and the troops of a Signal Corps Brigade.
