Chapter 9Adding a Desktop Foundation
Until now, we’ve focused primarily on the iOS side of Core Data. Although nearly everything we’ve covered works the same on Mac OS X as it does on iOS, there are some differences. In this chapter, we’re going to look a little more closely at the Mac OS X side of things.
To examine Core Data on Mac OS X, we’ll follow our familiar pattern, starting off with an application on which to base our examples—another foundation. Since we’ve already created an application on iOS that can share its data through iCloud, it seems only fitting to develop a desktop counterpart to the application that’s able to sync.
