This guide helps to map the approach that the project team, and specifically the conservation architect and the design team, can take when dealing with historic buildings, with an emphasis on managing the effect of the heritage protection measures that currently apply to ‘designated assets’, such as listed buildings, buildings in a conservation area and scheduled monuments.
