Influence of dynamic loading on fastened composite joints

Abstract:

This chapter discusses experimental and numerical investigation of dynamically loaded bolted joints in carbon fibre/epoxy laminates. Bolted joint testing at loading rates between 1 mm/s and 10 m/s found that joints loaded at or above 1 m/s exhibited significant rate sensitivity.
