Overview

Social media has come to permeate almost every aspect of both our online and real-world experiences. The first listservs ‘ike CompuServe enabled the evolution of social media to multi-modal platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat. Social media provide increased documentation and augmentation of our realities, while introducing issues surrounding privacy and identity. The maturation of social media has led to changes in how we interact with the leaders of the word and how we gather and disseminate news.
