Introduction

The e-book is a digitized version of a book, meant to be read on a computer, e-reader, or tablet. Many of the best-selling e-book titles are digital versions of popular print books without any significant structural changes from the print form, but some also introduce animation, video, hypertext, and social networking into the reading process. The goal of the e-book is to provide the ability to read books through an onscreen interface rather than on paper.
