What Is Worldbuilding?

To start—what is worldbuilding? Simply put, worldbuilding is the process of creating a world. In addition to being the most obvious way I could’ve defined worldbuilding, that definition is also broad, and it can be applied in different ways depending on the type of medium you are creating in.
