Scaffolding

The idea of the scaffold draws most obviously from the scaffolding used in building construction or renovation. Scaffolding acts as a frame around the building space to provide a temporary and adjustable structure to aid the activity of construction. The scaffolding structure is removed when the construction is secure enough to be self-supporting, or when it moves into a different phase of a project. Scaffolding can be erected and then dismantled a few days later, or it can sit there wrapped around a building for months or even years.
