Understanding the Multitenant Nature of SaaS Solutions

SaaS applications are often multitenant solutions; that is, within the cloud, two or more companies may share the same server resources, as shown in Figure 2-2. Depending on their size and fees, customers may also share database resources. Further, depending on the SaaS provider, customizing a multitenant solution may be difficult, expensive, or impossible.
