6.1 The singer in a recording session

Singers have the reputation of being more temperamental than most, and it is worth taking the time to prepare well for the session and try to pre-empt every possible source of difficulty, from temperature and draughts to refreshments and breaks. Because the singer’s instrument is also part of their body, the need for them to feel comfortable during a recording session can be of even greater importance than for other musicians.
