Chapter 15. Troubleshooting the Network Layer
The network layer handles all the software addresses of hosts. It is responsible for making sure that packets get to the destinations for which they are intended for. These addresses can be IP, AppleTalk, IPX, or any number of other networking protocol addresses. The specific protocol that will be covered in this chapter is TCP/IP, because it is the most widely used protocol for corporate and Internet applications.
