Configuring ISP Services
The case studies presented in this section deal with the configuration aspects of the concepts already discussed. These are only a few of the services that ISPs can offer, but they are important to your preparation for the lab exam.
Case Study 25-1: DoS Prevention Through Rate Limiting
The topology for this case study is very simple. A router named R8 is connected to the Internet. Your job is to configure R8 in such a way that it is protected from attacks by limiting the rate of traffic. Case Study 25-2, which is devoted to RPF, also uses the topology shown in Figure 25-1. Although RPF and CAR can be implemented together, the RPF case study does not include the rate-limiting configuration.
