Implementation of CSS in Browsers

Until quite recently, the main barrier to the acceptance of CSS on the World Wide Web by Web designers has been faulty and less than complete implementations of CSS in browsers. For instance, while Internet Explorer 5 for Windows supported about 70 percent of CSS1, Netscape Navigator 4, the next most popular browser, supported less than 30 percent of CSS1. The implementation of CSS in Netscape Navigator 4 is a particularly faulty one, as well.
